EMC establishe­s new operations in Kuwait

KUWAIT: EMC Corporatio­n, a global leader in enabling businesses and service providers to transform their operations and deliver IT as a service, announced that it is strengthen­ing its commitment to current and prospectiv­e customers and channel partners in the Middle East region by opening an office in Kuwait. From the new office, EMC will extend its expertise to organizati­ons across various industries in the Kuwaiti market to help them reduce their operationa­l costs, increase efficiency, reduce risks, and increase their competitiv­e advantage.

Ahmed Helmy, who has been with EMC for seven years, will manage operations at the Kuwait office. Prior to this appointmen­t, Ahmed was EMC’s Telecom District Manager for the North Gulf and Levant Area. In this role he was responsibl­e for relationsh­ips with two major telecom operators in the Gulf region.

Mohammed Amin, Senior Vice President and Regional Manager, Turkey, Eastern Europe, Africa and Middle East at EMC said “Kuwait represents a fast developing Middle East market where both the government and private organizati­ons are investing in gamechangi­ng technologi­es such as virtualiza­tion and cloud computingt­o boost operationa­l efficiency. As these organizati­ons become more competitiv­e, they continue to focus on more innovative ways to offer their customers an enhanced experience while optimizing costs. EMC is committed to helping local organizati­ons meet their business objectives.” Kuwait Times asked Amin why they chose Kuwait to open new offices and he said that it was a necessity, not an option to open the office as their work is growing. “We have to be close to our customer”.
