Criminal court acquits citizen
KUWAIT: The criminal court recently acquitted a citizen and sentenced another to four years with labor, a KD 1,000 fine and withdrawing his driver’s license for a year.
Case details show that a police patrol had stopped the second suspect’s vehicle and found him driving while drunk. On searching him, police officers found some hashish. On asking for the ID of the first suspect (who was sitting in the passenger’s seat), he refused showing any and resisted arrest till he was tied up and searched to find some Tramadol pills on him.
On his part, the first defendant’s attorney, Mohammed Kamal refuted the accusations and questioned all evidence that mainly relied on witness’s testimony, which eventually led to the aforementioned verdict.
