Bikini-clad woman creates furor

KUWAIT: Kuwait Interpol handed a fugitive over to Egyptian authorities after he arrived in Kuwait recently. The German national arrived at the Cairo International Airport on Saturday following his arrest in Kuwait where he traveled after issuing checks which bounced. The man was sent back to Egypt to face charges.

False alarm

Bomb squads headed to a location in Salmi desert where a Kuwaiti man reported finding a foreign object half buried in the sand. Bomb technicians were called in after a shepherd who worked for a Kuwaiti man said that he suspected the halfburied object to be a landmine. Closer examination revealed that the object was just some garbage which was strewn after the camping season.

Bomb squads successfully detonated a landmine found recently in Kabd. The technicians rushed to a spot near a Kuwaiti man’s private property where the landmine was found and detonated it after evacuating the area. The experts left the scene after sweeping the place clean for other potential hazards.

Illegal renting

Criminal Investigation officers arrested a number of building janitors for renting apartments illegally. The arrests were made based on information that the janitors allowed people to rent apartments for a short period of time, like a few days or even for a few hours. They are currently being questioned to reveal if they aided and abetted individuals who practiced illegal activities in the dark. Police also found bank transfer documents with the suspects which showed that they remitted an average of KD 450 weekly to their home countries.

Wife beater

A Salmiya resident faces charges after he reportedly assaulted his wife and kicked her out of their apartment. Patrol officers approached a woman when she waved at them on the road and discovered that her husband threw her out of the house. The Arab woman was taken to the area’s police station where she filed a case, and then police called her friend to come over and take her home after she explained that she has no relatives in Kuwait and has been in the country for only a few months. Police have summoned the husband for questioning.

Fake passport

A truck driver was arrested at the northern border after he tried to enter Kuwait with a forged passport. The Pakistani man raised suspicions when he was spotted avoiding eye contact with the police and was arrested when a fingerprint scan revealed that he was blacklisted after being deported previously. He was referred to the proper authorities for further action.

Bikini-clad woman

Police were called to Khairan beach over the weekend after several people at chalets complained about a woman in a bikini. The swimsuitclad lady was soon approached by officers who informed her that she was required to cover up if she wanted to continue walking on the beach. She insisted that she didn’t do anything wrong and the police were forced to explain that many people complained about her “inappropriate behavior”. The officers left the beach after the woman eventually agreed to stay away from the public’s eyes.
