TRASSK holds Onam celebrations

Thrissur Association of Kuwait (TRASSK) conducted Onam celebrations at Indian Community School with a variety of programs on September 20, 2013. The daylong programs were started with “Paayasa Malsaram” and “Pookala Malsaram”, which portrayed the beauty and taste of Kerala. Joy Tholath, General Secretary welcomed the audience to the colorful memory of our homeland. Jose Joel, the President inaugurated the Onam celebrations by lighting the traditional lamp. Afsal Khan, Zonal Manager of Malabar Gold inaugurated the Maholsavam 2013 coupon release and Shri John Simon; Marketing Manager of Al-Mulla Exchange, Lissy Wilson - Vanitha Vedi President, Master Ajmal Jamaludheen, Kalikalam president gave felicitation speeches. The inaugural functions were concluded with the vote of thanks from treasurer Prasad K R Media Convener Joyson Ponnore released a Kids Magazine by TRASSK, containing the hand written talents from the Kalikalam children.

Variety of Cultural programs - like Onapattu, Kaikottikali, dance, skits etc were also performed from different areas followed by the Thiruvaathira kali Competitions. Rhythms capes Kuwait, Baladarshan Kuwait, and Bhavans Rhythm Scape won the prizes for Thiruvaathira Kali Competitions. Delicious traditional style Ona Sadhya was served in the program. The cultural programs were enjoyable to all members, especially the Pulikali, Khoshayathra, chenda melam and other programs. The Half yearly general body was conducted after the Onam Celebrations. President Jose Joel presided the meeting, were the reports were presented by the General Secretary, Joy Tholath, Vanitha Vedhi Secretary - Dina Ramanadh and the Treasurer Prasad K R. TRASSK area committees demonstrated variety of Onam Cultural programs. Lissy Wilson, Vanitha Vedi President and Ajmal Jamaludheen gave felicitation speech followed by the vote of thanks by Prasad K R.
