Aviation Showcase at Australian College of Kuwait
An invited audience of ambassadors and diplomats, together with representatives from defence, aviation, and allied industries, participated in an Aviation Showcase at Australian College of Kuwait. Delegates were given a full presentation and tour of the Aviation Centre and its extensive training facilities, followed by informal networking with instructors, trainers and academic staff.
Abdul Hameed Al-Refai, Head of the Aviation department at ACK commented “As an internationally qualified and certified vocational training center we have great pride in showcasing our state of the art training facilities, classrooms, training aids and a live Boeing 737-200 Aircraft, demonstrating how our investment in time, money and resources generate, through both classroom and practical skills based training, a thorough understanding of the aerospace maintenance industry requirements and practices. Aviation is, by its very nature, a truly global industry with universal requirements on which we all depend for efficiency and, particularly, safety. We are at an interesting stage in the development of aviation in the region. Projected requirements, in the Gulf alone, over the next 20 years, are for 40,000 pilots and 53,000 technicians. Our intentions and forward thinking concern broadening the appeal of this facility to potential partners outside Kuwait, offering, to overseas students, vocational opportunities and employment potential in an ever developing and expanding industry, both locally and Internationally. We are delighted with the interest shown by the international community here in Kuwait. There has been positive feedback and engagement which we will shortly be taking forward to further business discussions.”
