Rifles, guns stolen from security academy warehouse

KUWAIT: Eleven old shotguns, 11 pistols and five M16 assault rifles from the arms warehouse of Saad Al-Abdallah Security Sciences Academy were. The security source said there were no surveillan­ce cameras in the store and that there were security personnel to guard the warehouse. The source said the theft was discovered last week and investigat­ions are going on. A security source said a patrol in Salmiya spotted a car obstructin­g traffic. Then they noticed two persons inside the car who could not control themselves. The car was stopped and a suspicious substance was found with them. The two were sent to narcotics authoritie­s.

Ten arrested Ahmadi patrols arrested 10 persons without IDs. 15 cars were impounded and 80 traffic violations were issued. Two persons wanted for financial cases were arrested and one person wanted to serve a one-year jail sentence during security campaigns on Friday.

Illegal barbecuing Hawally security in cooperatio­n with Salmiya municipali­ty carried out a security campaign in Mishref desert area along the Sixth Ring Road. The campaign covered barbecue areas in the Mishref parks and desert area. The campaign resulted in recording 49 violations. Officials arrested three persons whose visas were expired. They arrested three people for renting ATVs without a license.

Wanted man held Hawally police caught a man who escaped from a checkpoint. When they inquired about him, he was found wanted to serve a 10-year jail sentence on drugs charges.
