‘Positivity improves productivity, lifespan’
KUWAIT: A leading social activist called for adopting positive approach in performing deeds and dealing with other persons affirming individuals with such an attitude tend to be much more productive as compared with those of negative vibes.
Positivity enhances productivity by 31 percent and increases person’s lifespan, said Sheikha Intisar Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Chairperson of Al-Nuwair Positive Initiative, during a ceremony held late on Tuesday marking the proclamation of the Kuwaiti Social Services Society. Veterans in the sector were honored during the ceremony.
Sheikha Intisar urged for promoting positive values in the Kuwaiti society noting that such an approach minimizes person’s depression and creates motivation for greater productivity and interaction with the others.
Aware of the necessity to implant such values among the people, the United Nations launched, on March 20, 2013, the International Day of Happiness. On the same day, Kuwait witnessed the launch of Al-Nuwair initiative to serve common purposes.
The Kuwaiti association organizes various activities designed to encourage citizens namely the youth adopt positive values. It executes practical programs at schools “to sow seeds of positivity and encourage good behaviors among boys and girls,” said Sheikha Intisar. Up to 26,000 persons have taken part in 14 events, organized by the initiative.
For her part, Aisha Al-Bahar, the chairperson of social services’ pioneers, said social services is one of the oldest services provided by the Ministry of Education, “for this sector is a main factor for development and plays a role in development of human resources.” Mohammad Al-Duwaihi, a representative of the society, said social services in Kuwait date back to half a century ago. — KUNA
