One dead, four injured in mosque collapse
KUWAIT: One man died and four others were injured when the roof of a mosque under construction collapsed in Sabah AlAhmad. Rescue squads found four workers under the rubble. Housing Minister Yasser Abul, accompanied by Eng Bader Al- Wuqayan, Director General of Housing Care Authority visited the site. Colonel Khalil AlAmir, KFSD Public Relations and Information Director, expressed regret over the accident and stressed on the lack of safety and security measures. This is the second incident of its kind that happens in Kuwait within a week, after a collapse at a building under construction in Salmiya last Saturday killed two workers and injured three others.
Man, woman insult police
Two policemen reported that a woman they stopped in Salmiya for being drunk insulted them by using indecent words and threatened to kick them out of service when they asked her to get into the patrol car. She was detained at the police station. In similar news, an Egyptian man was arrested for insulting an officer and attempting to hit him. The officer reported that he stopped the Egyptian for driving recklessly and upon asking for the driving license he refused and insulted the officer.
Several violators arrested
Police in Ahmadi arrested two persons with 169 large liquor bottles, two others with 50 pills and a liquor bottle and a minor who was caught driving without a license. In other news, 36 wanted persons were arrested, 8 persons without IDs. The suspects were sent to concerned authorities.
