ITC Promotions adds ‘Imperial Gallery’

- By Nawara Fattahova

KUWAIT: The launch of the new imperial line of high end and luxury gifts ‘Imperial Collection Gallery’ is an addition to the ITC Promotions’ business, which is the leading promotional gift supplier in Kuwait. “We started this business in 1993 focusing on different areas, all in the field of gifts. At first, we were commissioned for fast food restaurants like MacDonald’s and KFC, before expanding to other areas including the insurance and investment companies, banks, hospitals, and hotels,” Sheham Shehadeh, CEO of ITC Promotions told the Kuwait Times.

“We try to be different, and we have succeeded. We are the only company in the Middle East in the field of promotional gifts in terms of stock and varieties. We have the exclusive manufacturing rights for some companies as we own the standard specifications. For instance, we are manufacturing the toys for KFC not only for Kuwait but the Middle East as well,” Shehadeh added.

“We are working on basketball (NBA) now. We buy the exclusive rights of the mother companies in Europe or the US and then manufacture it in one of our offices in China or India. We then export it to the Middle East countries. Before we also had the wrestling WWB before, so we could see the same items in all ME countries,” stressed Shehadeh.

“We have especially noticed this during our participation in an exhibition held in Dubai, where we noticed the uniqueness of our products comparing to other participants, who were only providing promotional gifts of companies. None of them had promotional gifts for restaurants or food industry. They also didn’t have the VVIP line like our Imperial Collection,” he pointed out.

Imperial Collection is a leading supplier of unique souvenirs and luxurious gift items. “We thought of this idea, as we received orders from customers for gifts for important people such as King Charles. So we thought of the luxury historical gift items, and we have some unique items. We faced this challenge last year with the GCC Summit, when we received an order to make gifts for the participants that reflect our culture and the idea of the summit,” he explained.

The Royal Selangor

The Royal Selangor’s products, joined the Gallery in 2013, adds a lot of variety to the Imperial Collection. “The category of this business wasn’t covered properly in our business. The originality of these products and the handicrafts is very accurate. They are very well known in their industry. We send our staff to their factory to be trained there to see the process. They have unique products and there are no competitors for them,” concluded Shehadeh.

Chen Tien Yue, Executive Director of Royal Selangor spoke about their manufacturing and history. “We have to capture the essence of the occasion. We translate what the companies aim to share with their friends or partners into a product, so it becomes very special. The pewter is the main material we use in producing our items, especially in keeping food or flowers fresh for much longer period,” he noted.

“We have stores in China and Australia and we are expanding to new markets. We are the fourth generation branding business, and we are celebrating the 130th anniversary this year. This is my first visit to Kuwait. My grandfather started the business in 1885, and today he would be very proud to see how we completed the pewter designing and craftsmanship,” Yue said.

250 craftsmen

Royal Selangor has over 250 craftsmen in Kuala Lumpur who are producing wonderful work of art each day. “We entered to interesting projects including making trophies for international events, and we will be working on the F1 next month in Malaysia. Many of our designs are contemporary and many times we take inspiration from culture,” he stated.

Pewter designs

“Pewter is an alloy of tin, to which a small amount of copper and antimony is added for strength. At 95%, Royal Selangor’s tin content is the highest international standard for pewter. Its versatility and warmth is further enhanced by casting, which results in high quality pewter. All Royal Selangor pewter is lead-free and food safe,” Yue explained.

Expansion

Top-notch quality is the main standard for Imperial Collection reflected on the large range of products, made from premium quality materials that have unique designs and arty decorations. Imperial Collection provides unique products of high quality, including porcelain goods, leather goods, silk scarves, glassware, original writing instruments, key chains and diverse business accessories collections based on Kuwait’s tradition and culture.

ITC Promotions has services and activities that are distributed across several subsidiaries namely ITC Promotions, Event Mania, Imperial Collection as well as Zgert, a new company that is being established.

“We are planning much more activities and expansion. We are planning to launch an office in Dubai this year. Furthermore we are planning to produce a theatre activity, a play, for children that will be presented during the Eid, in addition to other shows before the end of this year. We will soon produce a TV ad for a popular company,” concluded Shehadeh.
