ICAI host Indian budget seminar

The Kuwait Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of India (ICAI) hosted a seminar on the Indian budget 2015-2016 at the Indian Embassy Auditorium here at 10th March evening, sponsored by Al Mulla Exchange.

The Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India Shri HR Khan and Eminent tax lawyer and Chartered Accountant, Homi Ranina were the key note speakers at the event presenting details and insights on the Indian Budget presented by the Government of India led by Narendra Modi.

Hormuzda Dawar, Director - Financial Services Group, Al Mulla Group welcomed the audience. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest of the evening, Sri Subhashish Goldar, Deputy Chief of Mission at Indian Embassy said that the Budget would revive investor sentiment, give boost to India’s infrastruc­ture, help India on the path of robust economic growth, and restore the common man’s expectatio­ns for Ache Din.

H R Khan, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) gave an in-depth idea of the external factors which influence the Indian economy. We are trying to make the investment easy and hassle free, he said. The budget also provides a framework for individual to invest in foreign countries. The digital India initiative by the new government will reduce al lot of expenditur­e. JAM trinity - Jan Dhan Yojana, Aadhar, Mobile numbers will bring the whole host of people into the system of countries economic developmen­t.

With over three decades of experience in matters related to taxation, finance and corporate management, Ranina said that the initiative­s have begun to put India in the growth trajectory. The budget is all about a change in direction which we witnessed for the last 50 plus years. The new government means business and they are really into it, he said. Ranina shows the bigger picture of the Indian budget.

Giving his profession­al assessment, Ranina delivered a wealth of informatio­n and issues related to the annual budget in terms understand­able to both laymen and profession­als.

The seminar was followed by a Question and Answer session where the questions of the attendees were answered in full satisfacti­on by the speakers. Prashanta Shetty, Chairman of Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of India (ICAI) Kuwait chapter proposed vote of thanks.
