Kuwait pavilion marks 1.5m visitors
MILAN: Kuwait’s Ambassador to Italy Sheikh Ali Khaled Al-Jaber Al-Sabah celebrated visitor number 1.5 million to Kuwait’s pavilion at the Expo Milano 2015 yesterday. Visitor number one million and half was an Italian pharmacist who came with his fiance to the pavilion. The ambassador gave the visitor and his fiance two tickets to visit Kuwait. Sheikh Ali said that this “unprecedented success” at the pavilion in terms of the number of visitors affirms media excellence in delivering Kuwait’s humanitarian and civilized message that supports its position and effective role across the globe.
The ambassador said that this success prompts Kuwaitis to be proud of their country and their “Humanitarian Leader” HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah, lauding efforts of Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah and all officials for making this success possible.
Mazen Al-Ansari, the pavilion’s head, told KUNA that visitor number 1.5 million was the target of the pavilion at this international event. He added that this “unprecedented number” is an evidence of the success of all who contributed to the event to meet the desire of HH the Amir. The success is the fruit of hard work over four years and the contribution of Kuwait’s institutions, civil society organizations, the wise leadership of the minister of information and all senior officials, he added. Ansari was very proud of the success of the Kuwaiti pavilion in showing its honorable image and its sons’ epic in challenging nature and building renaissance.
Meanwhile, the Italian visitor, who was given a gift from the ambassador and Buthaina Al-Qallaf, the pavilion’s director of operation, was impressed by the pavilion’s distinguished design and interest in visitors as well as the warm reception. He added he was attracted by Kuwait’s achievements in overcoming the issue of water scarcity through modern and advanced technologies, which form an “exceptional accomplishment”. — KUNA
