KUWAIT: The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kuwait issued 4,000 tourist visas to Kuwaitis and other nationals last year, a sign of an increasing appetite to visit other European destinations. Martin Vitek, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Kuwait, inaugurated the new Czech visa application center located on the first floor of the Al-Banwan Building on Ali Al-Salem Street in Qibla in Kuwait City yesterday, where he lauded the continuous increase in the number of visitors from Kuwait.

“The embassy issued more than 4,000 visas last year and estimates to issue 6,000 this year. With our partnership with VFS Global, this target will be very easy for us. This place is a significant step to strengthening our capabilities to serve our clients better,” he said. Most Kuwaiti visitors are seeking healthcare at various Czech hospitals including therapy sessions offered by internationally recognized spas and clinics in the country.

Tempting destination

“Historically, Czech Republic has been a tempting destination for Kuwaiti visitors. Medical and spa facilities in the Czech Republic have been treating Kuwaiti clients with high quality standards over many years. We are pleased to register an increasing demand from Kuwaiti citizens,” Vitek said. Applicants for visas to the Czech Republic can now visit the VFS Global center to submit visa applications and enroll for biometrics in a centrally-located and comfortable environment.
