Shrimp stinks up car

KUWAIT: Several calls about a foul smell coming from a car in Farwaniya area led police, detectives and criminal evidence to go and check the car. Police first lifted fingerprin­ts from the car then opened the trunk, only to find a bag of shrimps that seems to have been left there for a few days.

Man stabbed, assailant arrest Ardhiya police arrested a citizen who stabbed an Asian and robbed him of KD 350 and his mobile phone. The arrest was made in Rihab area following leads by detectives investigat­ions.

Police insulted Two policemen working at the criminal detectives department, complained against two young men for insulting them while on duty. The two were interrogat­ing the young men, when they were surprised by their insults.

Insults over traffic A dispute over the right of way between a female citizen and another man led to her insult the motorist. The citizen told Salmiya police what happened and filed a complaint.

Bootlegger­s busted Policemen arrested three men for selling liquor in Fintas area. The trio had 81 bottles, and were sent to concerned authoritie­s.

Fishermen hurt in fire Three firemen suffered minor injuries while fighting a fire on the fifth and sixth floor of a Riqee area building. Shuwaikh and Ardhiya fire centers responded to the call and evacuated the six floors building, after it spread to the fifth floor. Firemen succeeded in keeping the fire from spreading further before putting it out.
