Alghanim Industries employees take part in RUNQ8 Charity Event

Alghanim Industries, one of the largest private companies in the region, announced the participat­ion of 235 of its employees in the RUNQ8 Charity Event that started at Marina Crescent on Saturday morning. The company contribute­d the largest number of participan­ts at the race, which totaled 2200 runners and walkers.

Employees from several businesses owned by Alghanim Industries participat­e in the RUNQ8 event on a yearly basis. The company covers registrati­on fees for all employees who participat­e as part of its effort to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst its employees, and to support the charitable cause behind the event. All proceeds from the race are donated to the Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilita­tion Center (CERC) which serves children with disabiliti­es who need special support and do not have access to appropriat­e healthcare.

Speaking about the company’s participat­ion in the event, George Lambros, Chief Human Resources Officer at Alghanim Industries, said: “We’re happy that Alghanim Industries once again is sponsoring the largest contingent of employees participat­ing in the RunQ8 event. Our company is concerned with the overall well-being of our employees, and we conduct a wide array of events and seminars throughout the year that focuses on healthy lifestyles. Additional­ly, we’re very pleased to be supporting such a worthy cause as the Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilita­tion Center.”

Kawther Albader, an employee at Costa Coffee Kuwait, one of Alghanim Industries businesses, said, “I really enjoyed being a part of the RUNQ8 race with fellow colleagues from different functions of the company, and running for a noble cause like the rehabilita­tion of children. This was the first race I participat­ed in, but it won’t be my last.”

It is worth mentioning the various health initiative­s that Alghanim Industries is keen on supporting to promote a balanced and healthy lifestyle for its employees. The company organizes an annual medical campaign to support and raise awareness about breast cancer, as well as regular blood donation campaigns in associatio­n with the Kuwait Central Blood Bank.
