Minister coastguards at Sabah Al-Ahmad naval base
KUWAIT: Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said that Kuwait’s political leadership is keen on following up with the efforts of security men and providing them with all technical and human needs. Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled made those statements yesterday following a visit to the Coastguard General Department at Sabah Al-Ahmad Naval base.
A statement released by the ministry’s Security Information Department said Sheikh Mohammad conveyed congratulations of the higher political leadership to 17 newly graduated officers during the visit. The minister insisted on the necessity of compliance and exerting all efforts for the sake of the country, the statement said. The minister said the security establishment needs the efforts of new officers as their addition is vital for technical specialties. “Their role is major and (they) should bear their responsibilities at the service of citizens and expatriates,” the statement reads.
Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled expressed satisfaction towards the readiness of sea borders’ security sector and the Coastguard and their quick response to any emergency.
Meanwhile, Interior Ministry Undersecretary Lieutenant General Suleiman Al-Fahad thanked Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled for his visit, confirming it will be a motive for exerting more work and sincerity in order to keep the security of the country and safety of its people.
Acting Director General of the Coastguard Directorate Colonel Saleh Al-Foudry gave details of the most important achievements of the directorate, adding that there are projects under study to support the Coastguard department and secure Kuwait’s territorial waters. Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled then toured the exhibition of sea security equipment, specialized training center, diving gear and training tools of the Coast Guard.
