Union supports Arab causes
ABU DHABI: The newly-elected secretary general of the Arab Writers Union (AWU) Habib Al-Sayegh reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to supporting the major Arab questions, notably the central Palestinian cause. The Arab nation is undergoing a challenging stage which requires concerted efforts by all institutions of the Arab countries, including contributions of the intelligentsia, he said Friday on the sidelines of the 26th AWU General Conference. Sayegh, of the United Arab Emirates made the remarks after being unanimously elected as new secretary general of the AWU. —KUNA
