Up to 2,000 days leave balance for police force

KUWAIT: Director of MoI’s police force affairs department Brig Faisal Al-Foudery announced amending article 83 of the police law pertaining leaves in a way that entitles force members to maintain an open leave balance even if that balance reaches 1,000 or 2,000 days throughout their service. Foudery explained that a police officer can use those days to go on leave, replace, or encash them effective since May. “A police agent can benefit from 90 days of his/her balance a year provided work circumstances allow it,” he added, noting that an agent could also encash 60 days of the balance but stressed that taking leaves and encashing leaves could not be done in the same year. —Al-Rai
