KRCS distributes aid in Taiz
KUWAIT: Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) said yesterday that it has distributed humanitarian aid to needy families in the Yemeni province of Taiz, in coordination with local organizations despite the imposed sanctions and difficult terrains.
The Taiz province is going through a difficult humanitarian crisis with the ongoing war, shelling, and imposed sanctions on civilian areas, KRCS’ Deputy Chairman Anwar Al-Hasawi said in a statement, adding that the Kuwaiti aid included 2,000 food baskets, 2,000 health kits and 2,000 cleaning packages totaling 6,000 baskets.
Hasawi said the aid covered villages in Al-Shamaitin, AlMaafir, Al-Asabih, Al-Afa, Al-Quraisha, Beni Ghazi, and AlMasharqah. He noted that these villages did not receive any humanitarian aid since the start of the Yemeni crisis, adding that despite dangers and difficulties, KRCS ensured delivery of such aid to the needy. Hasawi concluded by saying that the aid distribution comes at the guidelines issued by the Kuwaiti leadership since the start of the Yemeni crisis.—KUNA
