Kuwait Kerala Islahi Center launches Quran expo
The Press Information Secretary of the Indian Embassy, AK Shrivastave, inaugurated the Quran Expo, a three-day event aimed at spreading awareness about the message of the Quran and its miraculous nature, at the Kuwait Abbasiya Pakistan School on Friday. The event was organized by Kuwait Kerala Islahi Center (KKIC) under the aegis of the Ministry of Awqaf, and attended by the Undersecretary of Ministry of Awqaf, Sheikh Farid Al Imadi, in addition to other prominent members from the Indian community.
In his address the Press Secretary said that all religions teach peace, and that the misdemeanors of a small fringe who indulge in extreme acts of violence in the name of religion do not represent its pure teachings.
Sheikh Farid Al Imadi, who inaugurated a seminar entitled ‘Quran, a Great Miracle,’ said the contributions made by the Indian community for centuries in the cause of Islam are truly remarkable. The undersecretary hailed the efforts of the Indian diaspora throughout the world and particularly those of the scholars from the subcontinent “whose efforts have helped further the knowledge about Islam.” Further, Sheikh Al Imadi lauded the efforts of KKIC and expressed his in-depth support for the organization on behalf of the Ministry of Awqaf.
The Malaysian Ambassador to Kuwait, Ahmed Abdul Ghani, who was the chief guest at the seminar, for his part emphasized the importance of the seminar by underlining the need to learn the Quran, “to discover the valuable solutions it puts forth to all of humanity’s problems.” The event also witnessed the awarding ceremony for the class toppers at the KKIC-run Madrasa (religious schools) and the winners of the WhatsApp Quran Contest.
A special seminar hosted by KKIC President, PN Abdul Latif Madani, was attended by prominent members of the Indian community. A journal published by KKIC was launched at the event with the Director of Jamiya Al Hind, Faisal Moulavi, presenting a copy to the renowned orator, Abdul Malik Salafi. Former State President of MSM, Twalahat Salahi and CP Abdul Aziz also spoke during the expo.
