Canon Middle East participates in ‘Walk for a Cause’

Company joins hands with Etihad Airways to support fund raising event

ABU DHABI: Canon Middle East (CME), a leader in imaging solutions, participated in “Walk for a Cause,” an Etihad Airways community engagement and fund-raising event held at Mushrif Central Park, Abu Dhabi. Etihad Airways organized their 4th Annual Social Event to support a new Autism center being built in Abu Dhabi and to renovate and refurbish a school in India. The event witnessed an overwhelming response as 5,236 guests, including young children, participated in and contributed to this noble cause.

The highlight of the event was Canon’s photo opportunity, where a team from Canon trained the participating children on how to take a picture using Canon products; a photo station featuring a cutout of a plane and crew uniforms was created for children to have their pictures taken in, transporting them to the world of flying. Visitors were also encouraged to write their thoughts and messages about what inspired them to participate in the event, on a footprint sticker. Their messages were later placed on a wall.

Guests were given souvenirs of their pictures in a customised frame and were also encouraged to upload the images on their social media pages; the best picture had the chance to win a Canon product. We have always believed that it is imperative for a business to engage with communities and create a setting that nurtures talent and drives innovation, especially the newer generations.”

Their generous contributions helped us raise funds to support the building of a new rehabilitation centre for the Emirates Autism Society and the refurbishment of a school in India.
