NSH’s Eid Onam Gala reflects religious harmony
Stars’ special glittering, flowers’ lavender and fish’s joyous dance in the pond welcomed the Eid Onam Gala by NSH in Mangaf. The air was found with merriment and exhilarations. The benevolent presence of His Excellency Sunil Jain, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, distinguished guests from different walks of life, wellwishers including Ashok Kumar Sahoo from the Indian Embassy, Juan Manuel Garcia, Park, Sato and the large audience added the sparkling light in this whole day celebrations. The Vice President Sabu welcomed his Excellency Ambassador, and led to the spot with the traditional “Thalapoli” by children. The event commenced with the lighting of the “Nilavilakkau” (Holy Lamp) by the envoy.
The fulfillment of the long one year expectation of the community members and children for this auspicious fest was felt from the expressions of many. The traditional “Onasadya” served to these thousands irrespective religion, once again proved the day as symbol of harmony. It was also heard from the participants that this function would be another milestone of the list of memorable events conducted.
His Excellency Ambassador pointed out that NSH provides its members with an environment that fosters the multifaceted development; it stands second to none in the social responsibilities and humanitarian activities, appreciating Sabu by saying, amidst the thunderous applause, that he could feel as if celebrating the Onam in Kerala.
NSH is a valuable place aiming to cultivate the well balanced activities, shaping minds and transforming the lives by offering a wide array of programs, said Sabu. Sayato Hanada from JGC, NSH General Manager Harikumar, Corporate HR Manager Pani J Anthony attracted the audience through their speeches. It also gave a divine note in the event as the members were decorated as pious leaders of Muslim, Hindu and Christian that revealed the strong feeling of religious harmony. The musical drops by Arun Chand and team added more beauty.
Everyone looks forward to the Onam celebrations as it reminds us of the celebrations back home. These events are also a great networking opportunity to meet fellow citizens, and are one of the important community events which unite all Indians especially the Keralites in abroad and the other communities irrespective of color and creed, said Santhosh Babu. Added joy of this year’s Onam celebrations is the entertaining ice-breaking events for children, the unique opportunities to bring out the children’s hidden talents and lucky draw for women, Dileep and team managed amidst the busy schedule.
Earlier, the facilities were well planned by Santhosh Babu and Manoj Kumar, and arranged by Padmakumar, KR Mohan, Shaji, Jayakumar Binu and the Camp Administrator Joby Thomas. The decorations all over the premises added much fanfare to the festivities.
