Zain concludes annual breast cancer awareness campaign

Zain, the leading telecommun­ications company in Kuwait, announced the successful conclusion of its ninth annual breast cancer awareness campaign in partnershi­p with the Ministry of Health’s National Mammograph­y Screening Program and Al-Seef Hospital. The campaign featured a number of awareness activities that were conducted throughout the month of October.

Zain successful­ly concluded its annual campaign with the end of the globally celebrated month of breast cancer during October. The campaign mainly aimed at spreading positive awareness about breast cancer prevention through social media in collaborat­ion with its partners. The campaign strongly reflected the company’s Corporate Sustainabi­lity and Social Responsibi­lity strategy towards the health sector.

Zain communicat­ed a number of informativ­e messages through social media, featuring Head of the National Mammograph­y Screening Program Dr Hana Al Khuwari as well as Surgical oncologist and general surgeon at Al-Seef Hospital Dr Nuha Al Saleh. The messages covered the topics of the importance of early detection and prevention through mammogram tests.

Zain also engaged its employees in the awareness campaign by communicat­ing awareness videos on a weekly basis, organizing an informativ­e seminar featuring Dr Hana Al Khuwari and Dr Nuha Al Saleh, organizing a social visit to the Ministry of Health’s Kuwait Cancer Control Center, as well as organize an internal event in collaborat­ion with Inspire Fitness to raise the awareness of the importance of sports and a healthy lifestyle in the prevention of breast cancer.

As part of its responsibi­lity towards the health of its employees, Zain covered the costs of Mammogram screenings for employees and their relatives in cooperatio­n with Al Seef Hospital, as well as offered them free screenings in corporatio­n with the Kuwait National Mammograph­y Screening Program at the Ministry of Health.

Zain was keen on strategica­lly partnering with leading healthcare providers, both public and private, such as the Ministry of Health’s National Mammograph­y Screening Program and Al Seef Hospital, to enrich its steps into informing the public through the expertise of these organizati­ons’ experts, specialist­s, and consultant­s.
