Ooredoo partners with ‘Refood’ volunteer initiative
Ooredoo, Kuwait’s fastest network in 2016, has recently partnered with ‘Refood,’ a youth initiative that focuses on delivering food for people in need inside Kuwait. Supporting this initiative comes in tandem with the company’s strategy based on caring, connecting and challenging, which places great emphasis on supporting youth volunteer initiatives.
Ooredoo stated that this cooperation aims to raise awareness of companies inside Kuwait on the importance of taking a proactive role in social responsibility. ‘Refood’ is a youth volunteer charity initiative that aims to put all food that typically goes to waste to good use by collecting food items that are about to expire and donating them to families and people in need inside Kuwait on a weekly basis.
Ooredoo has recently participated in several major events nationwide that are focused on youth and volunteerism. It has partnered with a number of esteemed entities, such as the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs, the Arab Media Forum, Spread the Passion, among other organizations that focused on youth efforts.
Ooredoo is also the proud founder of a volunteer program entering its third year, which attracted hundreds of volunteers from across Kuwait. The program aims to give the volunteers certification in volunteerism, covering all the necessary skills, in cooperation with famous characters locally and regionally. Volunteers were tasked with distributing meals in Ooredoo’s Ramadan iftar tent throughout the holy month of Ramadan over the past two years, located across the street from Ooredoo’s head office in Kuwait City.
