Amir receives former German Chancellor
Company to provide free Wi-Fi around Kuwait
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace yesterday former Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and honorary President of the German Near and Middle East Association Gerhard Schroeder. President of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Ali Mohammed Thunayan Al-Ghanem and Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah were present at the meeting. The German official later met with His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber AlMubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanem.
Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir received Abdulfatah Mohammad Marafi, Abdulelah Mohammad Marafi, Mohammad Taqi Marafi, Yagoub Sadiq Marafi, Yosef Sadiq Marafi. The Marafi family dedicated a book entitled ‘Mohammad Rafie Hussein Marafi: a man of business, politics, and humanity.’
In the meantime, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah received Ghanem, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled AlHamad Al-Sabah, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah. Furthermore, His Highness the Crown Prince received Chief of Kuwait National Security Bureau Sheikh Thamer Ali Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
In other news, His Highness the Prime Minister received stockholders of a newly established water company. The company’s stockholders shared their visions and future plans for diversifying water resources in the country. His Highness the Premier praised the company for its strategic goals in amplifying water production in the country, advising them to follow high standards of water production. Sheikh Thamer Al-Sabah attended the meeting.
His Highness the Prime Minister also received Chairman of the Public Authority for Communications and Information Technology Salem Al-Uthaina, as the Wireless Mobile Data Company (WiMD) is preparing to launch its free Wi-Fi service in the country. The meeting discussed a complete review of the WiMD’s plan to provide free Wi-Fi service in all parts of the country. — KUNA
