Aashirvaad 2017: The Blessing Ceremony of ICSK CLASS XII

The Indian Community School, Senior Branch, organized a colorful Blessing Ceremony for 285 outgoing students of Class XII on 16th February, 2017, at the ICSK Senior Branch auditorium. The students were blessed by invited dignitarie­s and the ICSK fraternity. The chief guest of the occasion was His Excellency Sunil Jain, the Ambassador of India to Kuwait. The Honorary members of ICSK Board of Trustees, Principals and Vice Principals of all the branches of ICSK, Teachers, Parents and special invitees were present on the occasion. The event climaxed with a walk of the graduating students with candles, symbolizin­g sparks of wisdom, in their hands across the auditorium amid thunderous applause by the audience consisting mainly of their parents.

V Binumon, Principal of ICSK Senior, welcomed the gathering. He exhorted the students to scale the heights of success through persistenc­e and hard work. He reminded the students that blessings were integral in order to achieve success in life, along with the fruits of hard work one put in.

To invoke the blessings of the Almighty, the invited dignitarie­s lit the ceremonial lamp. A melodious inspiratio­nal tune was rendered by the members of the School Choir, Sawranjali. The Chief Guest, His Excellency Mr. Sunil Jain, the Ambassador of India to Kuwait, in his address, recollecte­d his student days with nostalgia. He recalled his ambition and the hard work he put in to achieve the same. He advised the students to work tirelessly to achieve their goals in life. HE Sunil Jain also advised them not to forget our Mother Land India where ever students may reach profession­ally in their future. The reminisces shared by the student representa­tives, Vanesa Emilia Swares, Master Akash Ramesh Kumar,

Madhumitha Venugopal and Anjali Santha Kumar brought back the images of bygone years into the minds of all the distinguis­hed members. The principal and teachers eulogized the students for their academic excellence and discipline. They also hoped they would make their alma mater, parents and friends proud as they grow up further. The guests too wished them all success. All the students were escorted by their parents to the stage to receive the mementoes. The class wise photo session was arranged for the graduates.

George Swamy, Coordinato­r for Aashirvaad - 2017 rendered the vote of thanks to all the invitees and the ICSK fraternity. In the exhortatio­n ceremony that followed, Dr Sam T Kuruvilla, the Vice-Principal of Senior Branch, read out the promises to be kept by the newly graduated students. As the students took oath, they received the lit candles that also signify the dispelling of darkness of ignorance as also conveyed by the ICSK motto ‘From Darkness to Light’. The ceremony concluded as the students were blessed by teachers as they walked through the ‘corridor of blessings’, ready to step out of school and face the outside world with hope and confidence. A special dinner was arranged for the students at the end of the program.
