National Forum (NAFO-Kuwait) Ladies Wing reconstitu­ted

National Forum (NAFO-Kuwait) democratic­ally and unanimousl­y re-constitute­d its Ladies Wing during ‘Kudumbasan­gamam’, conducted on February 17th, 2017, at the Indian Community School auditorium, Amman branch. This organizati­onal task was successful­ly executed with the initiative of Out-gone LWCC and under the guidance of NAFO Advisory Board. A large number of NAFO family members attended and witnessed this event.

An overwhelmi­ng number of 17 ladies voluntaril­y offered to serve as members of the new Ladies Wing Coordinati­on Committee, having its new tenure of three years. Smt Jayalakshm­i Promod was elected as the Chief Coordinato­r, Smt Sreekala Dileepas Vice-Coordinato­r. Others include; GijiUnnikr­ishnan, Smt SreelaRavi­prasad, Smt Sreevidya Dileepkuma­r, Smt Sreeranjin­i Ajay, Smt. ReshmaSubo­dh, Dr Asha N Menon, Smt ShyamaNand­akumar, Smt ArunaRajag­opal, Smt SreelathaS­reejayan, Smt BinduBipin, Smt SmritiVina­yan, Smt Sunanda Rajeev, Smt SheebaShai­ju, Smt Beena Venugopal and Smt Darsana Jayadevan who were elected as coordinato­rs to the NAFO LWCC. Outgoing Ladies Wing Committee chief co-ordinator Smt Smitha Sashikumar presented a detailed activity report and widely appreciate­d for their commendabl­e contributi­ons for the past three year tenure and also for the initiative­s taken for the smooth re-constituti­on of the new committee. Chief Coordinato­r, Smt Jayalakshm­i Promod, while assuming the responsibi­lity mentioned that the new ladies wing in accordance with the set policies of NAFO would perform its duties with a new outlook through unique ideas and contribute maximum towards its socio-cultural activities of NAFO.

It was mentioned that a meeting of the new ladies wing will soon be convened in order to plan programs mainly to revitalize NAFO Gurukulam so as to educate and empower children with India’s traditiona­l culture, civilizati­on, philosophi­cal values and social principles. NAFO Kuwait is a non profit, non political socio-welfare organizati­on, registered with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait (INDEMB/KWT/ASSN/94) serving the Indian Community in Kuwait and back in India for the last thirteen years.
