Kuwaiti army chief surveys site of major military drill
The Kuwaiti Army’s Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohammad Al-Khoder toured yesterday the location of a monumental military exercise involving the armies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the United States. Khoder was received at the site of the drill entitled, ‘Eagles Resolve 2017,’ by senior military officials taking part in the ongoing annual event, a statement by the Ministry of Defense noted.
Moreover, Khoder said that he was gratified with the preparations that have been made for the drill that brings together entities from across Kuwait’s defense spectrum. He also pointed out that the country’s leadership has always been a proponent of such military exercises, adding that he was sanguine that the drill will meet its objective of boosting defense capabilities. Since its inception in 1999 and with its 14 edition this year, the ‘Eagles Resolve’ exercise has morphed into a showcase for military adroitness.
Earlier yesterday, Khoder met with Commander of UK Field Army Lieutenant General Patrick Sanders. During the meeting, they discussed ways of promoting and bolstering military cooperation between Kuwait and UK, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense said in a statement. They also exchanged views on several issues of mutual interest, the ministry added. The meeting was attended by Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans Major General Ahmad Al-Omairi.
