KIB launches 7th Quran Memorization Competition
As part of its ongoing commitment towards promoting Islamic values across all segments of the community, Kuwait International Bank (KIB) recently opened registration for its 7th Quran Memorization Competition. The annual competition is set to take place during the Holy Month of Ramadan for the children of KIB customers. The competition will be taking place at KIB’s head office, from June 11 to 15, and will be divided into five categories based on participants’ ages. There will be four categories dedicated to children (7-9 years old, 10-12 years old, 13-14 years old and 15-17 years old).
“As an Islamic financial institution, we are keen on fostering strong religious values and principles within our community. We have always been devoted to promoting religious traditions that target different segments of the population, particularly the youth segment,” commented, Dr Hisham Abdul Hai, the Shara’a Coordinator at KIB. “Within this context, we have always been firm believers in the importance of teaching and learning the Quran, and we actively seek to inspire the younger generations to uphold the traditions of proper Quran recitation.”
Participants in the first category will be asked to recite their assigned Quranic verses, while the rest of the categories will be asked to recite verses in addition to using proper tawjeed. The first category will recite surat AlNaza’at, Al-Infitar and Al-Aa’la, the second category will recite surat Al-Waqa’a, the third category will recite surat Yasin, the fourth category will recite surat Al-Kahf and the fifth category.
Abdul Hai further added that those interested in signing their children up for the competition can register their children at KIB branches. He concluded by wishing all participants success during the competition.
