ROAD DISPUTE LEADS TO ASSAULT

KUWAIT: Arabi Sports Club water polo player Mohammad Najem was beaten in Dasma by six men for honking while driving. The player was driving in Kuwait City when a car steered towards him, so he honked to alert the driver, and kept driving. On reaching Dasma, men from the same car along with three others attacked him with sharp objects, leaving him with a head injury and other injuries before escaping. The victim was taken to Amiri Hospital as detectives are working on the case.

Robbery

Bayan detectives arrested an ex-convict for breaking into cars and stealing their contents. A citizen complained to Bayan police about the theft of smart phones from his car. Detectives identified the suspect and arrested him. The man admitted during questionin­g that he stole money to use for buying drugs.

Suicide bid

A woman swallowed 14 antihestam­ine tablets in a suicide attempt after her relationsh­ip with her boyfriend ended. The man informed police immediatel­y, and paramedics rushed to the scene. They found the woman in bad shape and rushed her to Mubarak Hospital. Police are waiting for her to be cleared for questionin­g.

Drug abuse

A citizen and a bedoon girl were found under the influence of drugs inside a stolen car. An envelope containing drugs was found with them. They were arrested and sent to concerned authoritie­s.

Maids fight

Two maids fought following an argument after their employer ordered them to find a valuable object that was lost inside his house. The Kuwaiti man had threatened to cut 50 percent of the maids’ salaries should they fail to find the object. The two ended up fighting, and one of them had to be sent to Adan Hospital for treatment.
