Bee’ah rewards increase to 10,000+ participants in a single month

-

Bee’ah, the Middle East’s leading and award-winning environmental management company, has announced the winners of Bee’ah Rewards for the month of March. The first-of-itskind CSR programme has been rewarding UAE residents for their recycling efforts since January and is open to the general public.

Every participant in Bee’ah Rewards is eligible to win prizes, when using the Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) that is placed in various locations in Dubai and Sharjah. With the incredible participation of over 10,100 participants in March, the initiative witnessed an increase of 10 times the number of participants in a single month (with 900 participants in February). At this pace, the environmental management company expects to substantially increase recycling rates by the end of 2017. The programme’s popularity in its first two months is a sign that Bee’ah Rewards has already gained the interest of the public, impacting recycling behaviour for years to come.

Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO, Bee’ah commented, “Bee’ah has a long history of CSR initiatives and community engagement is an important part of that. Bee’ah Rewards is an initiative that instills a culture of recycling in the UAE and beyond. We pride ourselves in proactively promoting community development in exciting ways and producing tangible results. This programme is a statement of intent that Bee’ah will continue to have a positive impact on the environment as well as the public sphere.”

The moment that any member of the public recycles using an RVM and scans a unique receipt code using Bee’ah’s app, their receipt number automatically enters a prize draw. The monthly winners are announced on Bee’ah’s social media accounts on the first day of each month. The lucky recyclers from the month of March, included: Sahin M.D Jalal, who won a trip for two to Paris; Edwardo Mangalus Alcaide, who won an iPhone SE 16GB; Abu Bakr Nasir Butt, who won a Nespresso machine; Leanora Dehonor Ballers and Asanka Daransana Attanayaka, who both won ‘At The Top’ tickets for the Burj Khalifa.

The rewards system is linked directly to Bee’ah’s innovative app, locating the nearest Reverse Vending Machines (RVM). With the launch of Bee’ah Rewards, users that download the app can participate in the initiative and potentially win exciting prizes. Participants simply deposit plastic bottles and aluminium cans in an RVM to receive a receipt code that must be scanned using Bee’ah’s app. Current RVM locations include: American University of Sharjah, Dibba Al-Hisn Municipality in eastern region of Sharjah, Dubai International Airport, Dubai Marina Mall and AlMajaz (with Al-Qasba and Dubai Design District to follow soon).

Using Bee’ah’s app and RVMs to recycle now will enter participants into April’s draw with a chance to win a getaway to the Maldives and many other exciting prizes. As public interest in the programme increases, it is simultaneously developing a culture of recycling. Bee’ah is looking forward to expanding the programme across the UAE and the region.
