Defense Minister meets Saudi Ambassador

KUWAIT: Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah met yesterday with Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Dr Abdulaziz Ibrahim AlFayez. During the meeting, they discussed several issues of mutual concern, in addition to the ongoing bilateral cooperation, mainly in the military aspect and ways to enhance it, the Defense Ministry’s Moral and Guidance Public Relation said in a statement.

The meeting was attended by Kuwait’s Chief of General Staff of the Army Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Khader and the Saudi Military Attache in Kuwait. Meanwhile, Kuwait’s Interior Ministry Undersecretary Major General Mahmoud Al-Dosari headed yesterday to Saudi Arabia to participate in GCC undersecretaries preparatory meetings. The ministry’s media office said in statement that such meetings would be ahead of the 18th meetings for GCC interior ministers, which will be hosted in Riyadh. Upon his departure Dosari was seen off by senior Interior ministry officials.

In the meantime, Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Suleiman Al-Jarallah left for Russia to attend the fourth round of political talks between Kuwait and Russia due in Moscow. Jarallah’s visit comes at the invitation of the Russian President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov. The Kuwaiti delegation included Assistant Foreign Minister for Europe Affairs Ambassador Waleed Al-Khubaizi and Assistant Foreign Minister for the Deputy Foreign Minister’s Office Affairs Ambassador Ayham AlOmar.
