Gulfsat, IQ Teleports sign cooperation agreement
Deal on space broadcasting through comprehensive package
KUWAIT: Gulfsat Communications Company (Gulfsat), the region’s leading company specialized in providing communications and TV broadcasting and re-broadcasting through satellites, has announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with IQ Teleports in the Kurdistan province of Iraq being specialized in the supply and distribution of TV channels in the region. Under the agreement, Gulfsat will provide its new partner with a comprehensive package for broadcasting through a wide range of TV channels, while IQ Teleports will benefit from Gulfsat’s services in space broadcasting and media content through satellites. This agreement will reflect positively on Gulfsat’s expansion in the Iraqi market and the entire Middle East and North Africa region through its partners.
The agreement was sides by both parties during Gulfsat’s active participation at the 23rd CABSAT - the foremost exhibition for the broadcast content delivery, digital media and satellite industries exhibition that was held at the Dubai World Trade Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The agreement was signed on behalf of Gulfsat by its chairman and chief executive officer, Mohammed Al-Haj, and on behalf of IQ Teleports by its chief executive officer, Hiwa Fariq Mustafa.
A New Phase of the Company’s Presence in Iraq
Following the signing of the agreement, Gulfsat’s Chairman and CEO, Mohammed Al-Haj, stated that the agreement with IQ Teleports paves the way for the company to join a network of partners operating in the entire MENA region and with whom Gulfsat considers itself privileged to work with.
The agreement, Al-Haj added, moves from working on its own in the market of Kurdistan in Iraq to a phase in which it provides its services through a strong and active partner who enjoys a deeprooted presence in that market. “In IQ Teleports” he added, “we found a dynamic harmony in service delivery that fits perfectly within our own operating strategy. IQ Teleport has a deep footprint, a long-standing presence and intimate knowledge of its market. Its management is keen to keep pace with the latest technical developments within the sector.
