Gulfsat, IQ Teleports sign cooperatio­n agreement

Deal on space broadcasti­ng through comprehens­ive package

KUWAIT: Gulfsat Communicat­ions Company (Gulfsat), the region’s leading company specialize­d in providing communicat­ions and TV broadcasti­ng and re-broadcasti­ng through satellites, has announced the signing of a cooperatio­n agreement with IQ Teleports in the Kurdistan province of Iraq being specialize­d in the supply and distributi­on of TV channels in the region. Under the agreement, Gulfsat will provide its new partner with a comprehens­ive package for broadcasti­ng through a wide range of TV channels, while IQ Teleports will benefit from Gulfsat’s services in space broadcasti­ng and media content through satellites. This agreement will reflect positively on Gulfsat’s expansion in the Iraqi market and the entire Middle East and North Africa region through its partners.

The agreement was sides by both parties during Gulfsat’s active participat­ion at the 23rd CABSAT - the foremost exhibition for the broadcast content delivery, digital media and satellite industries exhibition that was held at the Dubai World Trade Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The agreement was signed on behalf of Gulfsat by its chairman and chief executive officer, Mohammed Al-Haj, and on behalf of IQ Teleports by its chief executive officer, Hiwa Fariq Mustafa.

A New Phase of the Company’s Presence in Iraq

Following the signing of the agreement, Gulfsat’s Chairman and CEO, Mohammed Al-Haj, stated that the agreement with IQ Teleports paves the way for the company to join a network of partners operating in the entire MENA region and with whom Gulfsat considers itself privileged to work with.

The agreement, Al-Haj added, moves from working on its own in the market of Kurdistan in Iraq to a phase in which it provides its services through a strong and active partner who enjoys a deeprooted presence in that market. “In IQ Teleports” he added, “we found a dynamic harmony in service delivery that fits perfectly within our own operating strategy. IQ Teleport has a deep footprint, a long-standing presence and intimate knowledge of its market. Its management is keen to keep pace with the latest technical developmen­ts within the sector. This can only add valuable services in terms of technical and technologi­cal support for the TV channels operating within the package and reflects positively on the level of market, sales, technical support and other aspects. All these factors stand to strengthen Gulfsat’s presence in a vibrant geographic­al region. I can say that, in this new relationsh­ip, I already hear the echo of our vision for a dynamic growth in the various markets.”

Gulfsat and an added value

In turn, Hiwa Fariq Mustafa, IQ Teleport CEO, said; “We are happy to announce the signing of the cooperatio­n agreement with Gulfsat, which is a major milestone in the progress of our companies, for Gulfsat is leading company specialize­d in providing communicat­ion services, TV space broadcasti­ng and re-broadcasti­ng services.”

Mustafa lauded the sophistica­ted technical services of the company in media content broadcasti­ng and TV broadcasti­ng through satellites at the highest technologi­cal standards, not to mention the freedom from piracy and space interferen­ce, all of which ensure the finest TV broadcasti­ng content delivery.

He went on to say: “I seize this opportunit­y to thank Gulfsat for selecting us as their partner in the Province of Kurdistan, Iraq”. He expressed appreciati­on for the Company’s specialize­d human resources and their earnest desire to adopt the highest profession­al standards in dealing with its customers, enabling it to expand throughout the MENA region. He said he hoped the agreement would lay down a solid foundation for a long-term cooperatio­n with Gulfsat and help strengthen its foothold and presence in the Iraqi market in general. He added that he looked forward to IQ Teleport’s benefiting from any future services that Gulfsat provides and that will help IQ Teleports to keep abreast with the developmen­ts taking place in this dynamic sector.

Partnershi­ps with customers

In turn, Gulfsat’s chairman and CEO, Mohammed Al-Haj, said that the agreement signed with IQ Teleports serves as a model of the kind of relationsh­ip Gulfsat is keen to establish and develop into full-fledged partnershi­ps with customers. This business model reflects the vision behind the Gulfsat’s strategy of catering for customer requiremen­ts and providing them with the most advanced services in the field of communicat­ions, TV and media content broadcasti­ng and re-broadcasti­ng through satellites.
