Ooredoo participates in entrepreneurship panel discussion MoYA holds discussion as part of Arab Youth Capital initiative
Ooredoo, Kuwait’s fastest network, reiterated its commitment to supporting youth entrepreneurs, due to the company’s firm belief in the vital role of entrepreneurs in bolstering the local economy. The statement came from the B2B Senior Director at Ooredoo Kuwait during a panel discussion organized by the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs held in Sheraton Hotel last weekend.
Al-Babtain noted that the company’s deep-rooted belief in supporting youth stems from its core values of caring, connecting and challenging. He added: “Our interest in supporting such initiatives comes to translate the wishes and recommendations of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who underscored on numerous occasions the importance of involving private sector entities in the Kuwait 2035 plan.”
He added that Ooredoo offers small and medium enterprise owners the best-in-class mobile internet services included within all the solutions and plans that are specifically created to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and small business owners. This is especially important, he added, in our current day where internet plays a major role in establishing any business.
Ooredoo announced earlier its strategic partnership in the regional initiative “Kuwait - Capital of Arab Youth 2017.” The initiative was announced earlier with endorsement from the Arab League. Ooredoo Kuwait stated that this partnership stems from its deep-rooted values of caring, connecting and challenging, and is in tandem with its corporate social responsibility agenda, which aims to enrich the experience of youth and support their passions. Ooredoo aims to participate in a number of events that are part of the initiative in the following month, activating the memorandum of understanding that it signed with the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs last year.
Kuwait was selected in the 38th assembly of the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports Council. A number of activities will take place throughout the initiative’s program, with a focus on involving private sector entities in enriching youth experience under the umbrella of corporate social responsibility. Additionally, the initiative will conclude with declaring a charter for building a constructive national youth policy. Empowering youth is among Ooredoo’s top priorities through its CSR strategy. The company has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs, to support youth projects and initiatives, making it the first telecom provider in Kuwait to sign such a high-level agreement. Ooredoo is continuously working with the Ministry to enrich youth experience in a variety of fields, with a focus on volunteerism.
