KFH recognizes CIBFS holders
KUWAIT: Kuwait Finance House (KFH) held a ceremony to honor a batch of its employees who successfully completed Certified Islamic Banking and Financial Services program CIBFS. This emanates from KFH endeavors to recognize its human resources while continually training them and providing them with the necessary skills.
Present at the ceremony were several highranking officials from the bank led by Group Chief Retail and Private Banking Officer Waleed Mandani, Group General Manager Retail Banking Fadi Chalouhi, Executive Manager Talent Management, Imad Mirza along with a number of executives.
Mirza said that the CIBFS certificates obtained by 10 KFH employees are approved internally from the Institute of Banking Studies (IBS) and externally from the General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) based in Bahrain.
He added that this program is tailored and developed to provide good knowledge on Islamic banking and its scientific applications as per the requirements of the advanced Islamic finance industry, indicating this contributes to raise the bar of the employees, hone their skills and qualify them to come up with innovative solutions to optimally perform all banking transactions, while overcoming the workplace hurdles and challenges.
He explained that the program conducted for a period of three months; 186 hours. It ran in two phases. The first phase is the training program with different subjects and topics tackled. The second phase is 12 hours for a case study.
The program encompassed several axes including international sharia standards, sharia supervisory mechanisms, economic fundamentals of Islamic financial services, basics of accounting and financial analysis, basics of risk management, banking credit basics, financial institutions organizational structure and basics of Islamic economy.
