Backup location secured for key petrochemical project
Kuwait’s Municipal Council agreed yesterday to designate a substitute site for the Petrochemicals Industries Company’s integrated Olefins III and Aromatics II project, to be carried out within Al-Zour Refinery mega project. Head of Al-Ahmadi Governorate’s delegation Dr Mansour Al-Khurainej said that the council has earmarked 11 locations in Hadiya area for converter stations, “given the dearth of power stations in the area.”
Meanwhile, he revealed that the council has also obliged to Kuwait National Petroleum Company’s request to expand its premises in Al-Ahmadi. On a related note, the municipal official pointed out that the council is looking further into plans to privatize industrial lands where several oil companies operate.
