Business Class Lounge
According to the results of 2016 Skytrax passenger rankings, the “Best Business Class Private Passenger Lounge” and “Best Business Class Private Passenger Lounge Catering” and “Best Airline Company of Europe” awards once again go to Turkish Airlines. The Turkish Airlines lounge is much larger than some airports in Europe.
The Skytrax Passenger Preferences Awards performs research and development on different areas of the global aviation without any commercial concerns, awarding airline companies regularly every year taking performance as base. It announced Turkish Airlines as the “Best Airline Company of Europe” this year, like the last five years.
The Turkish Airlines lounge in Istanbul welcomes passengers who arrive early with privileged comfort features. It has brought the “Best Business Class Private Passenger Lounge” award to Turkish Airlines by providing various treats. Catering provided by the Turkish DO&CO both inside the aircraft and in the private passenger lounge was an important factor for this success.
Business Class Lounge in Moscow
The Istanbul-Moscow lounge is also run by DO&CO, which is a successful affiliation of Turkish Airlines. Great care has been placed on every detail like architecture and menu. The lounge’s opening ceremony took place at Moscow Vnukovo Airport terminal yesterday. Turkish Airlines Chairman of the executive board Hamdi Topcu, Turkish Airlines Moscow manager Mefail Deriba, Vnukovo Airport chairman of executive council Vitaly Vantsev and Vnukovo Airport General Manager Vasily Alexandrov joined the opening ceremony.
In his opening speech, Topcu said: “We are leading the way again with our international passenger lounge, the first in the service of our passengers outside of our transfer center in Istanbul. We are proud of providing a service like this, besides expanding our flight network to Russia, which already consists of ten destinations.
“We do believe that the Istanbul-Moscow lounge will give our guests the same comfort onboard our planes. The special lounge of Star Alliance member Turkish Airlines will be open to passengers of other Star Alliance member airlines. The lounge is built over a 635 m≤ area and has a capacity of serving 150 guests at the same time. Turkish Airlines partner DO&CO offers Turkish hospitality elements at the Istanbul-Moscow lounge.
“The lounge has a kitchen and serving units, pide (Turkish pizza) and grill units, salad bars, sweet counters with traditional sweets like baklava, hot and cold drink counters, library, media screen, bar console, teleconference hall, work area with computers, charging units, luggage counters, and prayer rooms. There is wireless Internet service as well. Its design is dominated by porches, which is a must in traditional Turkish architecture. The lounge is similar to Turkish Airlines’ Istanbul lounge.”
