NBK annual walkathon ‘We’re stronger... with every step’

Kuwait (NBK) announced the launch of its 23rd Annual

Walkathon titled “We’re

Stronger... With Every Step” that will be held on the 9th

December 2017. Participan­ts can register for this event starting from the 22nd of October,

2017 online, through NBKWalkath­on.com. Online applicants can receive their assigned T-shirt and number at the NBK’s registrati­on point beside the Scientific Center on the Gulf Road in Salmiya starting from Thursday 23rd of November 2017 until Thursday 7th of December 2017. The number for each participan­t will contain a step counting chip.

NBK will be giving away two new Renault cars from Al Babtain Group as the grand prizes during the Walkathon along with many other valuable prizes. Referees assigned by the Kuwait Amateur Athletic Federation (KAAF) will be present to arbitrate the race. The first ten winners from each category will be rewarded with valuable cash prizes.

Over the years, it has garnered huge success and public recognitio­n as being one of the much awaited and anticipate­d nationwide health and entertainm­ent-related activity.” “NBK looks forward to welcoming participan­ts and giving away many exciting prizes. The Walkathon event will host various functions, activities and competitio­ns”, Al Rushaid added.

Ten winners will be selected from each category of participan­ts. The walk for both the female and male participan­ts will start from the Green Island on the Gulf Road to the Shuwaikh Beach Park, parallel to the Gulf Road, next to KPC building for a distance of 11 Km.

For the first time this year, NBK initiated a new racing category for participan­ts aged 60 years old and above to encourage a healthier lifestyle among all members of the society. NBK strongly supports sporting events and encourages sporting activities as means to promote a healthier and more active lifestyle for members of the community. Throughout the years, NBK also organized several social awareness programs including educationa­l, environmen­tal, health and many other active initiative­s.
