Suad Adbullah visits Syrian refugee camp in Lebanon
After returning from a visit to Al-Faour Syrian refugees camp in Lebanon with LOYAC’s delegation, veteran Kuwaiti actress, Suad Abdullah stressed that it was an unforgettable experience. “It was an act of humanity that would benefit us all and make us feel comfortable for sharing others miseries and trying to alleviate their sufferings”, she underlined. Responding to question why she joined LOYAC on the trip, she added that LOAYC is a Kuwaiti foundation that everybody should be proud of.
She added that she had been supporting LOYAC’ activities for 15 years because she strongly believes in voluntary work and using art in charity with discrimination based on race or doctrine. “I wish LOYAC would get more support from both governmental and nongovernmental bodies to carry on representing Kuwait”, she underlined. Further, Abdullah said that this was her first visit to the camp and that it was very touching and emotional.
She added that despite their miseries in the camp, the children had a strong will to live and that they took part in art lessons LOYAC provided in three caravans. Abdullah also urged her colleagues to follow her footsteps and support refugees. She also noted that she made an agreement with LOYAC’s chairperson, Fareah Al-Saqqaf to add more caravans to teach the children how to read and write in addition to some math.
