Zain participat­es in opening ceremony of 6th Youth Empowermen­t Symposium

KUWAIT: Zain, the leading telecommun­ications company in Kuwait, participat­ed in the opening ceremony of the sixth edition of the Youth Empowermen­t Symposium held at Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Center as part of its strategic partnershi­p for the sixth consecutiv­e year. The event comes under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The opening ceremony witnessed the attendance of HH the Amir’s representa­tive the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan, Chief Executive Officer of Zain Kuwait Eaman Al-Roudhan, Chief Enterprise Business Officer of Zain Kuwait Hamad Al-Marzouq, as well as a number of local leaders from the public and private sectors.

The first day witnessed a number of discussion panels, including a panel entitled “Startup Opportunit­ies in the Private Sector”, featuring Bader Al-Sayer - Group Business Director and Secretary, Board of Directors of Al-Sayer Group, Hamad Al-Marzouq - Chief Enterprise Business Officer of Zain Kuwait, as well as Ahmed Al Kharji - Group Chief Corporate Banking Officer of KFH.

Zain’s strategic partnershi­p of the Youth Empowermen­t Symposium since its inception six years ago comes in line with the company’s long term strategy of providing the necessary support to national initiative­s aimed at uplifting the capabiliti­es and skills of Kuwaiti youth. The symposium is considered one of the biggest academic programs that cater to the youth in Kuwait and even the GCC region. Every year, it excels at inviting local and internatio­nal experts, profession­als, and pioneers in the fields of business, informatio­n technology, economics, and social media from all around the world to share their personal and profession­al experience­s with the Kuwaiti youth who anxiously look forward to learning from them every year.

The Youth Empowermen­t Symposium, held 23-25 October, provides local youth with an ideal opportunit­y to gain valuable insights from a number of internatio­nally and locally renowned industry pioneers, academics, and experts. This year’s speakers include Patrick Pichette, Former Vice President and CFO in Google Inc, Mike Tattersfie­ld, Chairman of Caribou Coffee, Sam Chamberlai­n, COO of Five Guys Group, Simon Ainslie, Former Global Vice President in Nokia, Victoria Grace, Founder and CEO of Colle Capital - USA, as well as a number of prominent local speakers. Zain’s presence in this national event showcases the company’s dedication to empowering the entreprene­urial skills of youth in Kuwait. The symposium delivers outstandin­g knowledge to talented young people to be able to progress in their fields of interest as well as to spark the light of enthusiasm within them.
