The Gulf Insurance Group (GIG) celebrated the launch of a ‘Kmala,’ a new card game which was a graduation project made by the Proteges Program students on Saturday. Mashael Bashir, Public Relations Officer of GIG noted that this game is useful for the youth. “We were excited to sponsor this project especially that this game is in Arabic language and provides with a lot of useful information from different fields such as science, music, literature, history and others. The players will gain information about many important personalities from the Arabic and Islamic world,” she pointed out.

Twenty five students from different ages, schools, and nationalities worked together in executing this project. “Kmala is an entertaining cards game suitable for children aged 12 years and above, and can be played by three or four players. It provides information and the history of popular personalities from old and modern time. It ends with unveiling the spy of the game. It costs KD 10 and the revenues will go to students in need, for buying school materials and other needs,” said Abdulrahman AlMaskhati, one of the students.

This is the seventh year that GIG is sponsoring excelling students. “This year we expanded our sponsorship to include the material from which the game was made. Every year the Proteges students have different graduation projects. Kmala was their project for this year, and it is really an interesting cultural project. I wish them good luck,” stressed Khaled Al-Sanousi, Senior Director of Corporate Communication and Investors Relations at GIG. Kmala is available online and will be available in the market during different events held in schools and universities.
