Zain sponsors World Arabic Language Day initiative
In collaboration with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation
KUWAIT: Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, sponsored a cultural initiative organized by the National Library of Kuwait in collaboration with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation represented in the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Kuwait. The event came on the occasion of the World Arabic Language Day celebrated on December 18 of every year.
The event witnessed the presence of Zain Kuwait’s Chief Executive Officer Eaman AlRoudhan, Director of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Saif Al-Mansouri, and Director of the National Library of Kuwait Kamel Al-Abduljalil. Zain’s support to the event came in line with its keenness to support the various cultural initiatives and activities, especially those that aim at preserving and encouraging the use of the Arabic language on both the regional and international levels.
The initiative featured a number of programs that aimed at developing and enriching the various linguistic skills of children, including reading short stories in Arabic, reading Arabic novels, Arabic calligraphy sessions, learning Arabic basics via visual aids, and more.
Zain’s support to this event highlights its commitment towards its social responsibility. The company, being a leading national institution, is keen on enriching the cultural aspect within the community through communicating with all segments of the society. By sponsoring such events, Zain showcases the leading role it plays in contributing to the further progress of cultural and social areas.
This initiative, launched by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, is an annual multiple-day event that comes in the occasion of the international celebrations of the World Arabic Language Day set by the United Nations on the 18th of December of each year. The first edition was launched in 2014 with the aim of encouraging Arab users to use their mother language on the Internet, especially on social media platforms and by supporting the Arabic language on mobile applications and online web pages.
