Culinary competition for professional chefs in Mais Alghanim
Mais Alghanim group recently held the third cooking competition for chefs in the kitchen team the kitchen of Mais Alghanim restaurant Sharq. It was attended by a selected jury of judges to review and give their opinions about the competitors. The competition included the preparation of various types of dishes like appetizers, salads, main courses and desserts where the participants competed to show their skills in cooking and preparing delicious dishes, which won the hearts of the jury.
The competition was prepared and coordinated by the Corporate Executive Chef for Mais Alghanim Group Ziad Hilal and it was well organized by the human resources department and the management of Barakat Foods Company, where in everything needed was provided to the competitors from cooking equipment and all required ingredients. The judges presiding over the competition were Thamer Al Dakheel, Yamen Tehfi, Chef Jonathan Spiteri and Chef Hassan Al Jlali.
The competition is the third held by the Mais Alghanim restaurants group in order to give the kitchen team the freedom to show their creativity and their ability to cook and also to create exciting and competitive environment so that each contestant can show from their knowledge and skills in working with the kitchen team. In addition to this, also identify new dishes from different international cuisines and give them the freedom to choose which category they wish to compete in.
Speaking to Chawki Barakat, he said that “the third culinary competition falls under a group of different activities done by Barakat Foods to identify the employee’s efficiency and to showcase their inspiration by giving them freedom to practice their talent in cooking”. He also added “We are trying as much as possible to develop staff skills through training in various modern culinary sector and the latest techniques as well as the opportunity to develop their skills and personal development to achieve career success that they wish for “.
