Kuwait’s Hamad Al-Namshan, Eman Al-Shamma and Abdallah Al-Rasheedi bag three gold
Kuwait’s medal tally rise to six gold medals
KUWAIT: Kuwait’s medal tally rose to six gold medals as the trio of Hamad Al-Namshan, Eman Al-Shamma and Abdallah Al-Torqi Al-Rasheedi won three gold medals yesterday during the competitions of HH the Amir Seventh International Shooting Grand Prix.
Hamad Al-Namshan won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol with 237 points ahead of Oman’s Ismail Al-Arabi who had the same score, while Ala Al-Othmani from Tunis ended in third place with 212 points.
Meanwhile Eman Al-Shamma took the skeet gold medal with 56 hits ahead of Kazakhstan’s Olga who scored 53 hits and Bahrain’s Maryam Hassani had third place with 42 points. Abdallah Al-Rasheedi won the skeet gold medal for men with the score of 56 followed by his teammate Abdelaziz Al-Faihan who scored 56 and third place went to Italy’s.
Secretary General of Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federations, Tournament Manager Obaid Al-Osaimi said the current Grand Prix in which an elite group of shooters, witnessed strong competitions, and they proved they are ready to compete for top spots in this Grand Prix which is being held under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
He said the 10m air pistol competition was very strong between Tunis’s Olfa Shimi and Bulgaria’s Maria Grozdova who won second place.
Tournament Treasurer Essa Butaiban said he was satisfied with the level of HH the Amir Seventh Shooting Grand Prix, which is to be concluded today. He said organization was up to the task and the championship came out at its best as far as the, technical and administrative levels are concerned. He said Kuwait shooters winning of several gold medals reflects the vast improvement of Kuwait shooting and the major role the Board of Directors is playing in order to maintain Kuwait’s good reputation.
Tunis head of delegation Samir Chouchan lauded the efforts of KSSC officials in organizing the tournament. He said that President of Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federations Eng Duaij Al-Otaibi, Secretary General Obaid Al-Osaimi and the rest of officials succeeded in providing all the necessary support for participating in the tournaments held in Kuwait.
