Man planted marijuana in his Adan house

KUWAIT: Detectives arrested a citizen who planted marijuana in his house in Adan, the Interior Ministry’s relations and security media department said yesterday. Upon raiding the suspect’s house, detectives found the planted marijuana, 10 gm of hashish and some shabu (meth), the statement added. The suspect was referred to relevant authoritie­s.

Thieves caught

Hawally detectives arrested a gang of four - three Egyptians and one bedoon (stateless) - for multiple restaurant robberies in Hawally, Capital, Jahra and Farwaniya, said security sources, noting that the suspects used to break into the restaurant­s and steal cash from inside. The suspects confessed to robbing 30 restaurant­s. A case was filed and the suspects were referred to relevant authoritie­s.

Inspection­s

Kuwait Municipali­ty’s Mubarak AlKabeer branch, in cooperatio­n with the public cleanlines­s and road occupancy department, carried out inspection­s of shops and roaming vendors in west Abu Fatira. Deputy head of the central emergency team Mishal Al-Malek said the inspection­s resulted in issuing 16 citations for road occupancy, renting basements as stores without license and general cleanlines­s. Twenty citations were issued to cafes that encroached on state property.

Home robbery

A citizen who lives in Sulaibiya told police that his house was broken into and jewelry and watches worth KD 16,000 were stolen. Detectives were able to identify the thieves - two bedoons - and arrested one of them, who led police to some of the stolen items. He said that he along with his partner sold some of the items, while some items are still with the other suspect. Detectives went to the house of the second suspect and found he had died of natural causes days after the theft. The case was closed.

Parlors raided

A tripartite commission raided massage parlors in Farwaniya governorat­e, resulting in the arrest of six Asian men on homosexual­ity charges. Policemen found women’s garments with them. Some parlors received citations for having rooms without lights, which is a violation of the law. A security source said sexual materials were found and confiscate­d.

Drug possession

Two men, Syrian and Jordanian, were arrested in Salwa with three pieces of hashish. The two were seen in an SUV, and when their IDs were being checked, a piece of hashish was seen near the driver’s seat. The rest of the drugs were found when the two were searched. Meanwhile, three people who were not carrying their IDs were sent to the Drugs Control General Department. They were arrested in Dhaher after being found sleeping in their car. They were under the influence of drugs, when they were awakened, drugs were found on them.

Fights

A fight between some youth and older people took place in Kabd, and a citizen lost a finger after he was hit by a sharp object. He was taken to Razi Hospital, and two others were treated by paramedics. Meanwhile, a domestic dispute took place in Taima. Although police responded to a call about an attempted murder, only light injuries were suffered that were treated by paramedics.
