Fun events at NBK’s Specialty Hospital, Stem Cell Therapy Unit
KUWAIT: As part of its social responsibility program at the Children’s Specialty Hospital and the Stem Cell Therapy Unit, National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) carried out fun-creative events to support children while they get their treatment.
The first event titled “Create Your Own Moneyboxes” was organized in collaboration with “The Craftery” team who provided the children with ready shaped money boxes and the kids had the opportunity to choose and color them. Doctors and nurses participated in this event and shared the moments with their young patients.
“Let’s Paint” was another initiative that was held for children at the hospital. A talented artist from NBK staff volunteered to conduct a workshop on watercolor basics for the children and teach them how to paint. The two events aimed at inspiring the children and encouraging them to use their imagination and enjoy what they achieve from their own talent.
The two initiatives come as part of a fun activity program that extends all year long and includes a library, a reading corner, storytelling sessions, activities for the medical staff such as the “nurse of the month”, interactive expression day, fun events and a movie night activity that are organized occasionally. The fun activity program is a part of NBK’s social responsibility towards children and keenness in supporting them while they get their treatment.
NBK’s initiative reflects the bank’s high sense of duty and responsibility towards the community and helping those in need. It is a well rooted tradition that has been carried out by NBK each year in its efforts to continuously have an active role in Kuwait`s society. It’s worth mentioning that NBK’s Stem Cell Therapy Unit is the first children’s bone marrow transplant center in Kuwait. The new center is the largest corporate social responsibility donation in Kuwait and will expand the hospital’s ability to treat children with cancer and blood diseases.
