Zain participat­es in awarding winners of ‘Company Program’ competitio­n

KUWAIT: Zain, the leading telecommun­ications company in Kuwait, awarded the winning teams of the ‘Most Innovative Product’ category for university and high school students at the INJAZ Company Program Competitio­n as part of its strategic partnershi­p with INJAZ Kuwait.

Zain Kuwait’s Chief Corporate Communicat­ions and Relations Officer Waleed Al-Khashti awarded ‘Biotensils’ team from Kuwait National English School for winning the “Most Innovative Product” category prize for high school students, as well as ‘Portage’ team from Algonquin College for winning the same category for university students.

Zain’s participat­ion in the competitio­n came in line with the company’s strategic partnershi­p as an Innovation Partner with INJAZ, and in line with its Corporate Sustainabi­lity and Social Responsibi­lity strategy, which aims at contributi­ng to the developmen­t of the youth and education sectors.

INJAZ’s ‘Company Program’ competitio­n aims at encouragin­g students, from across Kuwait’s universiti­es and high schools, to come forward with their innovative ideas and print a positive change in the society. The competitio­n includes a number of phases, and educates students to make use of business opportunit­ies, launch products, create an added value, and becoming young entreprene­urs. Zain Kuwait and Zain Group employees took part in mentoring the students during the training period.

Zain continues its strategic partnershi­p with INJAZ, through which the company seeks to support and inspire the youth from across Kuwait’s universiti­es and schools. Through their partnershi­p, Zain and INJAZ organize a number of educationa­l initiative­s all year long to foster the energies of Kuwait’s youth and support them to further develop and prosper.

INJAZ Kuwait was founded in 2005, as a non-profit, non-government­al organizati­on, driven by Kuwait’s private sector. Through strategic partnershi­ps with Kuwait’s business and education sectors, and with the help of qualified and dedicated volunteers, INJAZ delivers educationa­l programs on entreprene­urial and leadership skills aimed at inspiring and educating future generation­s. INJAZ Kuwait is operated by INJAZ Al-Arab.

Since 2005, INJAZ-Kuwait reached over 40,000 students, through 3,000+ volunteers at 60+ schools and universiti­es to provide students with knowledge and experience that will assist them in their personal and career developmen­t.
