KFH holds sign language training program for staff

-

KUWAIT: Kuwait Finance House (KFH) held a sign language training program for its employees in efforts to empower them to offer banking services to people with special needs. This comes in response to the regulatory authorities and the Central Bank of Kuwait’s (CBK) instructions, and in line with KFH’s keenness to ensure that its services encompass all society segments as per the highest standards of services quality.

Deputy General Manager Sales and Distribution at KFH, Khaled Alsubaiei said that the training program aims at empowering the staff to skillfully communicate with the deaf-mute and offer them the best service at six branches.

He added that the program tackled different theoretical and practical topics of special education, prevention methods, and the indicating symptoms, while the practical side of the program revolved around the manual alphabet that is used in deaf education, and had subsequently been adopted as a distinct part of a number of sign languages.

The program witnessed remarkable response and participation, which reflects the employees’ desire to serve this important segment in the society stemming from their social values and the Islamic identity of the bank. Twelve male and female employees participated in the program to offer the best banking services to the people with special needs; the deaf-mute people. KFH had previously wrapped up a sign language program of training 30 employees.
