The Bank aimed at supporting students who are taking part in the University’s 34th Engineering Design Exhibition, which will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in June.

Among the projects that KIB sponsored was the ‘3S - Smart Scaffolding System’ project, spearheaded by engineering students Fatma Al-Salah, Badria Ahmed, Aisha Al-Kandari, and Hussah Al-Anazi. The project aims at developing a remote-controlled electronic scaffolding device, thereby saving a significant amount of time and effort in construction projects. Additionally, the Bank sponsored the ‘Reverse Vending Machine’ project which was developed by engineering students Fatma Al-Azmi, Wahj AlMutairi, Zainab Abbas, and Afrah Al-Shatti.

The project aims at creating a recycling mechanism that reuses water bottles and soda cans after they are no longer of any use. Another project the Bank sponsored was ‘In Porous Media’, which was led by Maha Al-Thaferi and Noura Al-Sharah. The project focuses on injecting water in different reservoir layers to increase oil production and studying the water injected to avoid any deposition issues in rocks and pipelines. KIB also sponsored the ‘Variable Absorber Device’ developed by engineering students Halima Al-Felkawi, Mizan AlDabbous, Fatma Taqqi, and Shouq Hajji. The project aims at absorbing vibration motions in buildings.

On his part, Manager of the Corporate Communications Unit at KIB, Nawaf Najia, said: “We always strive to support projects and innovative ideas that contribute to the community’s development.
