Food Bank to launch ‘Adahi’ project during Eid Al-Adha
KUWAIT: Kuwait Food and Relief Bank in cooperation with the General Secretariat of Endowments are due to launch the ‘Adahi’ (livestock sacrifices) project, which will be implemented during the upcoming Eid Al-Adha and targets more than 3,000 families, or more than 15,000 people. The bank’s Director General Salem Al-Hamar said that the bank has signed an agreement with Endowments General Secretariat Monday to implement the project on the first day of Eid Al-Adha, noting that the distribution of livestock sacrifices will be based on a database that belong to the bank.
Hamar added that the General Secretariat has paid great attention to charitable work and is keen to encourage institutions and individuals to do more in the fields of charity and humanitarian work to help those in need in Kuwait and around the world. Hamar explained that their work seeks to find those in need through such projects, and they are keen to distribute to the most needy families, pointing out that the project comes within its charitable programs, which aim to distribute sacrifices to the poor and needy families.
“The project is a form of social solidarity among Muslims and is a good opportunity to bring pleasure to many hearts and to share with them the joy of Eid,” he said and stressed that the food bank spares no effort in providing everything that would advance the humanitarian process and strengthen its role as a functional entity. — KUNA
