Alghanim Industries concludes summer internship program
KUWAIT: Alghanim Industries, one of the largest privately owned companies in the region, concluded its fifth annual summer internship program with a closing ceremony that took place last week in the JW Marriott Hotel in Kuwait City. The ceremony was attended by representatives from Alghanim Industries’ different businesses and departments who hosted the students throughout the four-week period of their internship.
The program kicked off in July, following a series of rigorous interviews with the students who submitted their applications on the company’s careers website. The interviews and selection process aimed to filter applicants and learn more about their interests, capabilities, and expectations before matching them with internship opportunities at Alghanim Industries or any of its companies.
In a statement to the press, Alghanim Industries’ Chief Human Resources Officer, Henning Schlutt, underscored the company’s commitment to developing youth, especially refining their professional skills ahead of joining the workforce. He noted: “Our summer internship program is an extension of our ongoing efforts to help young people develop their potential, as it provides interns with an opportunity to utilize their skills, hone their talents, and acquire professional workplace essentials from practicing in a professional and dynamic workplace.”
Throughout the period of their internship, students were trained and assigned different projects, working closely with professionals in different fields and departments on day-to-day activities. To close their internship, students gave presentations on the highlights of their experience, and were provided with clear constructive feedback, focusing on their strengths and weaknesses to better help them prepare for their professional future.
“My time at Alghanim Industries was truly enriching; I was able to use what I have learned in a professional work environment, and I benefited a lot from my interaction with the different teams and departments in the company,” said Reema Boualayan, an Animation Bachelor of Design student at the University of Dundee, Scotland.
Alghanim Industries has a long record of accomplishment working with established entities to empower youth and develop their skills, such as INJAZ Kuwait and AMIDEAST, who contribute extensively to help different segments of society with a number of programs and initiatives.
